It’s that time of the year again. The NBA Finals are upon us and we have two of the best teams in the league duking it out to take home Championship, in the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics. Both teams have had a long and difficult path to the Finals, going through top teams like the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks in the Conference Finals to punch their tickets.
Vegas expects the series is expected to be a long one, with each team landing blows and possibly going the distance with 7 games. Home court will likely be less of an advantage than in years past, with both teams proving they can win away. The Celtics in particular were able to seal the Conference Finals win in Miami in a Game 7 they won’t soon forget.
The Warriors and Celtics split the regular season series at one game apiece. One of the few teams to have success against the Warriors, the Celtics are the only team with a winning record against the Warriors since Steve Kerr took over as head coach. The Celtics hold a 9-7 record against the Warriors in the Steve Kerr Era.
Golden State will come with the advantage with three extra days of rest and home-court. The series could easily go either way, making it one of the better matchups in recent Finals history to bet on. Expect a topsy turvy series with both teams being able to land big blows.
NBA Finals Betting Types & Odds
Oddsmakers have declared that the Golden State Warriors will start the series as favourites.
The series betting odds will change as the series goes on, so this might be your only chance to get the odds as they are. If Golden State protects home court and takes down Game 1 and 2, you can expect the betting odds to shoot up on the Celtics and way down on the Warriors.
The spread for the series opener is -3.5 for the Warriors and +3.5 for the Celtics, getting you 1.90 odds on each wager. The over/under is set at 212.5 at most top Ontario-based sportsbooks.
In terms of prop bets, Jayson Tatum is favored to lead the series in scoring with -120 odds. Draymond Green is favored to lead the series in assists -130 odds and Al Horford is favored to lead the series in rebounds at +130.
