Pinnacle’s Online Sportsbook Review

We’ve put together a review of Pinnacle’s sportsbook service, covering all the key features of the service, as well as the services and special offers it provides for its Canadian members. The online bookmaker offers a range of markets for sports betting both in and outside of Canada, and a good amount of variety. Do not hesitate to check the Pinnacle VIP code when you make a new account.

Pinnacle Betting Markets

We were a little disappointed with the betting markets we found in our Pinnacle review at the time of testing. They offer a very good range to members, but they don’t cover every market like many other operators do. They have all the major, popular sports in Canada like soccer, ice hockey, and NBA, but don’t cover any kind of horse racing, American football or darts. Their market range is enough to please the grand majority of people, but some will be disappointed with the lack of choice.

Betting Markets Pinnacle

One of the good things we noticed though for those who like to play big were the high betting limits, especially in the soccer market. This lets big players bet without the threat of being rejected like with some other major bookmakers.

Overall we gave this section 3/5. We liked the upper limits on betting but were a little put off by the lack of choice.

During our Pinnacle review, we found the odds to be pretty good overall. In the markets that they do offer they normally offer roughly the same or above average odds compared to other operators. The biggest improvements were in the soccer field so if that’s your area of expertise then there are some serious chances to win big.

The odds on the MBA and NFL markets offered by Pinnacle we found often tended to stay around the same average as other bookmakers, and that makes them a fairly good choice too. Betting on the soccer will always get you a better price from Pinnacle than any other operator. If you find another bookmaker with better odds, Pinnacle will match them. For other sports, they almost always offer at least the industry average.

odds Pinnacle

The site itself claims to offer the best odds Canadians can find – this isn’t a promotion, it’s more of a promise. They’ve been rated number one bookmaker for payouts and are proud that they can offer odds that are both competitive and consistent.

Overall we couldn’t really fault their odds in any way, so we scored them 5/5.

Mobile App

The mobile app offered by Pinnacle is available in Canada and is free and easy to download on both Android and iOS phones and tablets. The app pretty much has everything you could want from a mobile betting app – you can wager, deposit money and set reminders so you never miss the action while on the go.

At the time of our Pinnacle review, we found the interface to be well presented and simple, making it easy to use and navigate. You can tell a lot of thought has been put into the design as it’s extremely user-friendly. It runs quickly and smoothly and we had absolutely no problems when we tested it on our Android device.

mobile app Pinnacle

Overall we have nothing to criticise: 5/5.

Live features

With Pinnacle you also get access to a limited live in play service, which we used to watch the soccer and the tennis when we were testing the site. Unfortunately, as Pinnacle is a much smaller service than other bookmakers, it can’t offer the same level or variety of streaming that the bigger name brands can, and this was a little disappointing. You also can’t use a cash-out function with Pinnacle yet.

live betting Pinnacle

We’re hoping that the service can improve its live features in the future because right now it’s really letting them down, and those who like their action live only get access to a very small range of sports: 2/5.

Pinnacle accepts a lovely wide range of methods of payment from players in Canada, utilising all the biggest household names. Strangely though, unlike other major bookmakers, they do not accept Paypal as a payment method which may be off-putting for some, but all the other major methods are there.

As far as withdrawals are concerned, you get one free withdrawal a month from the service, and the minimum withdrawal amounts are very reasonable. However, after this first withdrawal Pinnacle will start charging you a fee per withdrawal which is a large amount for small-time bettors.

Overall we thought the payment methods offered by Pinnacle covered pretty much all the bases, the only off-putting aspects were the lack of Paypal and the additional charge, bringing the score down to 4/5.

Customer Service

Pinnacle is quite a way behind other bigger bookmakers when it comes to customer service. There is no phone or live chat feature available to get you in contact with them, in fact, they only way you can contact them is by email. However this email is open 24/7 and we always received a simple, helpful and quick answer.

Customer Service Pinnacle

The website also offers an FAQ section with answers to all the main queries that people have. This is a fairly viable option if you don’t want to spend time typing up an email.

Overall the lack of contact options was very annoying but we couldn’t fault the help we received so we gave an overall score of 3/5.

Overall Verdict

We think our Pinnacle review was a fair success – the site offers some seriously competitive odds for members, particularly with the soccer markets, of which they also offer a huge range. Their mobile app is straightforward, slick and easy to use letting you stay with the action while on the go. Unfortunately, the lack of contact options for customer service and the withdrawal fee for additional withdrawals each month disappointed us a little, as it can get very expensive for small-time bettors. Their range of other markets outside of the major Canadian favourites is also a little small for our tastes. Do not hesitate to read our Pinnacle casino review.

Overall we’d give them a strong 3.5/5, not bad for a small name.
