OLG Launches PROLINE App

OLG Launches PROLINE App

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation launched a brand new app in Ontario which caters to both online and retail customers. This one-of-a-kind app is the first, and only, sports betting app in Ontario to offer both online and in-store wagering options. Using the app bettors can both place bets via the company’s PROLINE+ online sportsbook or generate a barcode that can be used at almost 10,000 retail locations across the province, to buy a PROLINE ticket.

The app is available for free download on both iOS and Android devices. Ontario users will be required to turn on their location settings when using the PROLINE App to ensure that they are betting from within provincial boundaries. Using the mobile app outside of Ontario or with a VPN is strictly prohibited. To find the app type in β€˜PROLINE’ into the Google Play or Apple Store search engines.

OLG had previously provided a bet-builder feature to PROLINE users, however a purely online wagering app was not available. Mobile apps have become extremely popular in sports betting, with most competitors providing multiple applications for both sports betting and casino gaming. PROLINE adding a mobile version of their platform should be a big step in the right direction as the brand attempts to compete with new sports betting sites that have begun to enter the Ontario market from all across the globe.

OLG is owned and run by the provincial government and was the only legal sports betting provider in Ontario until the passing of Federal bills in August of 2021. On April 4, the market opened to new legal operators bringing more competition to the government owned sportsbook. OLG has been able to retain a good foothold in the market but will be looking to expand its digital and online presence to stay relevant in the ever expanding sports betting industry.

The PROLINE App comes with perfect timing as the NFL regular season gets set to begin in just a few weeks. The NFL regular season will be closely followed by the NBA regular season, giving Ontario-based bettors the chance to wager on loads of games each and every day, from anywhere within the province.

Other Upcoming Plans for PROLINE

PROLINE has also announced plans to introduce esports and a few other new sports to the PROLINE platforms in the coming months. More details about the exact sports and betting markets to be brought in will be announced at a future date, as will additional partnership agreements.

Another plan which has been held on the backburner but should come to fruition soon is digitization of the PROLINE Pools product, which is already available in retail locations.Β
